More than a butcher shop
People drive across Christchurch, and sometimes across the country, for Salal's. It is the hand-slaughtered halal meat, the huge imported range and the bulk-bin spices, but just as much it is the welcome. Staff who know their products, treat you like family, and even a place to pray.
The most welcoming team, amazing product knowledge, and the quality of the meat was really good.

Travelling from Queenstown to Christchurch, I stopped by with my mum and was greeted by the most welcoming team. Their knowledge of the products was amazing and the meat quality really good. They chopped my lamb chops in store, and I grabbed spice mixes too. Whenever I am back in Christchurch, this is my go-to.
Superb range of top-notch Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods, with an excellent selection of bulk-bin pulses. Best place for top-quality beef cheeks, very well priced. You must check them out.
Best halal shop in Chch, been shopping here for years. Super friendly staff, best meat, and so many varieties and options. Highly recommend.
